Abstract:
Abstract Sustainable management of road infrastructure is a major challenge to mitigate environmental impacts while enhancing ecosystem services. This study examines SAGID+, a research initiative supporting the transition to sustainable roadside management in France, through the prism of a framework for evaluating sustainability transition experiments. The analysis assesses whether SAGID+ matches the key characteristics of transition experiments, by analysing its outputs, outcomes, processes and inputs. This study seeks to contribute to the wider debate on how sustainability transition experiments can lead to systemic change in infrastructure management.
