A chapter in Technology Management for Intelligent, Open and Responsible Organizations and Ecosystems, 2026, pp 116-122 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The pace of technological disruptions is booming, and according to The Gartner Hype Cycle assessments, the time spans of emerging technology lifecycles are significantly declining. The average lifecycle of most new emerging technologies ranges from two to ten years. Most emerging technologies are facing difficulties in bypassing the trough of disillusionment and reaching the slope of the enlightenment zones. In this regard, there is a crucial need to enhance and improve the resilience of emerging technologies and make them more circular. In this study, a novel framework is introduced to better utilize the adaptability of emerging technologies through more engagement with different and new business ecosystems, sustain their lifecycles by reducing the disillusionment factors, and guide the technology developers and practitioners to optimize the technological enablers towards implementing circularity strategies.
