Abstract: Abstract This paper assesses the current state and prospects of the leadership and development of the energy sector of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Armenia, and the Republic of Georgia in the context of historical experience, factors that influence the international specialization of these states, integration processes which take place within the framework of the EAEU and CIS, policies of the leading Western countries in the region, and conjugation of the EAEU and SREB. The authors believe that currently there is an objective need for the countries of Transcaucasia (the participants of the EAEU/CIS) to harmonize positions in the frameworks of development and implementation of energy policy in order to counter the modern challenges and threats and to enter the path of sustainable development. Authors’ generalizations, suggestions, and recommendations can be used by the governmental agencies and other institutions and scientific, expert, and business community in the frameworks of the development of analytical and conceptual documents.
