A chapter in Leadership for the Future Sustainable Development of Business and Education, 2018, pp 665-670 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The transport infrastructure has long been considered as a link in the socioeconomic process of the territory formation and development. In spite of the fact that the transport infrastructure does not create the product itself, it participates in every system-forming process. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to consider “new opportunities” for the development of transport in Russia and in the world as a whole. The study is based on the document developed in Germany on Industry 4.0 and the emerging Industry 5.0. In our paper, we make an attempt with the purpose to forecast and model the level of development of the transport industry of the future for short- and medium-term periods. The paper is therefore focused on the leadership aspect of technology related to the transport economics. Our results might be of special interest for researchers as well as for state planners, stakeholders, and politicians responsible for the transport and transport infrastructure.
