Abstract:
Abstract Climate change is an important and immediate threat, while the effects are felt in various sectors, including agriculture, fishing, transportation, construction, tourism, insurance. Nowadays, climate change impact is felt more strongly (e.g. heat and cold waves, modification of season’s heavy rainfall and floods, prolonged droughts), requiring adaptation and mitigation measures for stakeholders at various social and economic levels. In this regard, awareness strategies and formulation of adaptation measures are necessary. In addition, in order to become aware of the climate change effects on natural and cultural heritage, communication campaigns across all sectors are required in near future. The present paper aims to underline the impact of climate change on natural and cultural heritage, to identify the particularities of climate change effects in Romania and to formulate some recommendation to raise awareness on climate change impact among stakeholders involved in protection and conservation of natural and cultural heritage.
