Abstract: Abstract The concept of emotional intelligence has gained popularity in management for the sake of enhancing the capacity of human capital in organizations. The current paper sets out to examine the relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance of employees of the IT sector in Pune City considering the important aspects like attitude and behavior. The result suggests that emotional intelligence is significantly related with individual attitude and behavior and ultimately job performance. All attitudes can be changed if we want to change them, so all aspects of EI can be developed and improved. Since majority of the concerns in organization involve people in different roles, emotional intelligence must become a determining factor for their effective management. It is revealed in this research paper that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance of employees of the IT sector in Pune City.
