Abstract:
Abstract Virtual reality technology is rapidly expanding and is already present in numerous sectors today. Education ranks among the most crucial areas in life; thus, it must align with emerging technologies and modern lifestyles. Indeed, integrating technology into education is enhancing the methods of teaching and learning approaches. This paper describes the creation of a virtual reality application aimed at educational objectives like hands-on learning and conducting live experiments in engineering and science. This application features a virtual environment that simulates an educational community, accessible via a virtual reality headset and navigated using a leap motion controller. With this application, students can conduct experiments, participate in live online 360° lectures, view recorded lectures, take a virtual campus tour, and explore informative labs. Consequently, numerous educational issues will be addressed, such as hazardous experiments, insufficient equipment, and challenges with mobility for individuals with disabilities.
