Abstract:
Abstract After decades of institutional neglect, nutrient-rich grains are quickly making a comeback in the Indian agricultural landscape. Development organizations and farmers in favour of rice, wheat, and other crops like oilseeds and pulses neglected these cereals. Millets require less water, fertilizer, and insecticides to flourish in poor soil conditions. They are the ideal choice for “climate-smart” cereals due to their ability to resist greater temperatures. More than 55% of the world's millets are produced in India, Nigeria, and China, which are also the leading producers. Millets, which provide antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, would be appropriate. Millets, a common cereal, may be a viable source of nutrients that are known to promote immunity. This is especially true in light of the current Covid-19 virus pandemic situation. This study aims to figure out the awareness level of the consumers which leads them to consume millet/millet-based products. The study was conducted among 220 respondents. The findings of the study are most of them are aware of the millets’ health benefits and intended to consume it in their daily food menu.
