A chapter in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, 2021, pp 155-166 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The use of virtual reality (VR) in the education of nuclear physics students, at the university level, is very rare. This paper aims to present the result of a nuclear physics exercise designed to compare real-world exercise ability (mass of Deuteron’s experimental setup available at the Faculty of Physics) with simulated exercise in VR. Students perform all the functions virtually at the human, atom and subatomic particles scale, in a radiation-free environment and time-saving manner. This research is beneficial for universities that do not have the appropriate equipment to perform nuclear physics exercises.
