Abstract: Abstract The paper provides an overview of the practice of using blockchain technology in the digitalization process of logistics and supply chain management of leading companies in different countries. The key global issues are observed to the essence of blockchain technology, practice, and prospects of its application in various industries and fields of activity. This study illustrates the examples of using blockchain technology by leading companies, particularly, in retail. It is indicated that the integration of key business processes in supply chains today needs adequate information support that can be provided through technology of blockchain, which also provides transparency and traceability of up to date. The study indicates that blockchain technology has the potential to improve supply chain sustainability performance in retail sector and it is expected blockchain technology to rise in popularity in supply chain management information.
