Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the book’s security issues, vulnerabilities, and solutions for ten major operating systems: Android, iOS, Windows, Symbian, Tizen, Sailfish, Ubuntu Touch, KaiOS, Sirin, and HarmonyOS. Each operating system presents unique challenges and employs advanced security techniques to protect user information and mitigate risks. The chapter also highlights the importance of maintaining a balance between innovation and strong security procedures in the dynamic world of technology. Android faces the challenge of securing a diverse range of devices and a vast app ecosystem, while iOS prioritizes a tightly controlled ecosystem for enhanced security. Windows addresses security challenges through measures such as Windows Defender. Symbian, although phased out, provides insights into the evolution of mobile OS security. Tizen, Sailfish, Ubuntu Touch, KaiOS, Sirin, and HarmonyOS offer alternative options with their own challenges and innovations.
