Abstract:
Abstract This chapter presents cybersecurity challenges, state-of-the-art cybersecurity best practices, and future work in healthcare data security and privacy. The chapter begins by exploring the security and privacy concerns in healthcare with best practices and mitigation methods. It then describes the most common top five cyberattacks and best practices for protecting healthcare data and services. The chapter proceeds with a description of cybersecurity challenges for various users including patients, doctors, IT system administration, infrastructures, software systems, and applications and outlines best practices for enhancing cybersecurity of overall healthcare systems. Lastly, it discusses the future research directions in the field of security and privacy of healthcare data.
