A chapter in Advancement in Embedded and Mobile Systems, 2026, pp 69-80 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This paper presents an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system developed to enhance the margarine production process by enabling real-time monitoring of critical production parameters such as temperature, pH levels, color, and humidity. The system addresses challenges faced by the margarine production department at SAVONOR, Burundi, particularly in the areas of temperature regulation, quality control, and the need for manual intervention. The system aims to improve production efficiency and quality by integrating IoT sensors and actuators through real-time data collection, automated alerts, and remote monitoring. This work provides insights into the system’s reliability, sensor calibration, and integration with existing production infrastructure. Importantly, user acceptance testing (UAT) was conducted, and the results were 85%, demonstrating the system's high functionality and performance, and the satisfaction of the users.
