Chapter Chapter 6 in Understanding Cybersecurity Management in the Construction Industry, 2026, pp 109-130 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we introduced a tailored cybersecurity risk management framework specifically designed for smart buildings and the digital construction ecosystem. Building on the limitations of existing risk practices in the industry, the structured, seven domain framework that addresses cybersecurity across essential requirements, identification, protection, detection, response, recovery, and training is our key and unique contribution of this book. Unlike generic approaches, this framework integrates both data and infrastructure layers and places equal importance on human capacity offering a comprehensive and actionable solution to improve resilience, regulatory alignment, and operational security in modern construction environments.
