Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides a high-level overview of this study. It raises the question of why German software-based companies struggle to become global leaders and points out the problems that result from this development. The chapter concludes by highlighting the approach that this study takes to identify specific measures on how managers and policy-makers alike can foster the internationalization of software-based companies.
