Chapter Chapter 3 in The Internationalization of German Software-based Companies, 2015, pp 15-25 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides details on the methodology that was used in the two phases of this study: in the first phase, 75 interviews were conducted with experts from different backgrounds (ICT, venture capital, academics, politics). Based on the interviews and the literature analysis, a web-based survey was developed, in which 1,064 German software-based companies participated. In the study’s second phase, 21 national and 34 international in-depth case studies were conducted to develop best practices and identify common patterns across companies that had managed to internationalize successfully.
