Chapter Chapter 7 in Digital Futures, Digital Transformation, 2016, pp 83-86 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Bauman proposed the concept of liquid modernity/the liquid society to characterize current societies. Similarly, enterprises, through the support of digital resources, are developing various degrees and forms of liquidity. The chapter develops the concept of the liquid enterprise through an examination of its different dimensions—time, space, coordination, planning of resources, contracts, etc., and how this concept is consistent with that of the liquid society. Here, the focus is on the importance of the consonance of norms and behaviors. As most of the digital transformation is beyond the sphere of control of firms, it is important for them and their managers to build their approaches and tools upon societal rules and norms. The chapter delineates the content and modalities for such congruence.
