Chapter Chapter 3 in Enterprise Software Sourcing Performance, 2016, pp 57-77 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Having specified software sourcing modes, software sourcing value, and the components of the dynamic alignment process, this section continues with the development of a preliminary research model. Following the guidelines by Sabherwal and Robey (1995), a combined process and variance model approach is applied. This section starts with an introduction to model logic in Sect. 3.1. Section 3.2 continues with a transformation of the dynamic alignment process into alignment clusters (Sabherwal and Robey 1995). These alignment clusters encompass patterns of environmental change, software structure change, business process structure change, software customizability, and business process adaptability. Alignment clusters are grouped into gestalts and non-gestalts. Gestalt clusters are supposed to establish dynamic fit. Four such gestalts are proposed drawing upon the literature review conducted in the previous chapter. A preliminary research model is developed in Sect. 3.3. Chapter summary is given in Sect. 3.4.
