A chapter in Risk Management, 2022, pp 263-270 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This book explores several issues about risks and risk management by investigating diverse, unique settings. Various themes are discussed, and multiple viewpoints are assumed by the authors of each chapter. Conceptual contributions are complemented by extensive empirical evidence provided with reference to organizations which differ in terms of country of origin, field of activity, size, and operating conditions. Multiple key messages are offered on the role institutional mechanisms play in guiding towards effective risk management practices, the twofold association between risk management and risk disclosure, the status of risk management in small- and medium-sized enterprises and its critical success factors, and the challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic. At the end of this journey, this chapter underlines some lessons learned and their relevance for both scholars and practitioners in the managerial field. Furthermore, it provides directions for future research on several emerging risk-related issues.
