Chapter Chapter 5 in The Economics of Talent, 2021, pp 57-73 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The chapter explores the connection between higher education and creative talent, focusing specifically on creative graduates. It explores how graduates that completed a creative degree course do not enjoy the same benefits of higher human capital experienced by other graduates. This is discussed in connection with different patterns of employment (full time versus part time) but also in relation to different career patterns and job security experienced by creative graduates in different sub-sectors of creative industries. It also considers the value of creative degrees beyond the creative industries and their potential contribution to other sectors of society and the economy. The chapter concludes by reflecting on the policy implications of the data presented, specifically for the higher education sector.
