Chapter Chapter 1 in Comparative Sport Development, 2013, pp 1-6 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This section starts giving an overview about why governments implement sport policies and finance sport. Thereafter, details about the comparative approach as well as the structure of the different book chapters – which is similar for all chapters – are provided highlighting the different sections and raising arguments for including particular elements. Finally, a summary of the countries presented in this book is given.
