Abstract: Abstract This chapter looks at sport development in Canada in terms of how sport is structured and governed, how it is financed, policies that promote and support sport development, and an overview of participation rates and trends. It concludes with a special focus on the Long-Term Athlete Development model, a framework for sport participation across the lifespan.
