Chapter Chapter 11 in Mastering Technology Transfer: From Invention to Innovation, 2023, pp 107-115 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Once you have attained TRL 3, your technology has been developed to a level where you need to decide on the most appropriate protection strategy. This is part of your total innovation strategy which will influence and guide all your later developments and activities. The protection strategy that you select (i.e. which parts to patent and which to keep secret) will be based on the nature of the technology but also on your own long-term plans, for example, whether the technology will stand alone or be part of a group of technologies.
