Abstract:
Abstract The critical importance of financial literacy has been magnified in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, highlighting its necessity for individual and societal economic stability. This chapter discusses the significant role of financial literacy in empowering individuals to make informed financial decisions and in promoting broader economic prosperity. It explores various dimensions of financial literacy, including its impact on entrepreneurs, its integration into formal education, and the creation of national strategies for financial education. The chapter also evaluates the effectiveness of these educational programs through global and national perspectives, considering the challenges and opportunities presented by digital innovations and socio-economic disparities. Through a detailed literature review and analysis, the paper underlines the foundational role of financial literacy in fostering economic resilience and social mobility, and the necessity of continuous adaptation to changing financial landscapes.
