Chapter Chapter 5 in Multiregional Flood Footprint Analysis, 2023, pp 81-85 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract A useful methodology is proposed to assess the economic costs from physical damages arising from a disaster to understand how the economic shock is transmitted and propagated to wider economic systems and social networks generating additional indirect economic costs. Important ripple effects caused by disasters have not been sufficiently researched in the past. Methodological developments are necessary to improve this research issue. This book has focused on contributing to a fuller understanding of the wider economic impacts of disasters, especially of the regional distribution of their indirect impacts.
