Abstract: Abstract In the previous section we have reported the proportion of current generation individuals achieving higher educational and occupational level compared to their parents, separately for different castes and gender in India. In this chapter we will explore the results from such a multivariate econometric exercise involving the most recent dataset pertaining to 2004.
