Abstract Continuing from our discussions in the preceding chapter, we now focus on the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and sustainable development in the case of the Chinese regions in this chapter. Undoubtedly huge inflows of FDI were an important driving force behind China’s economic development. FDI may exert important environmental consequences.
