Abstract: Abstract Based on the literature review on regional development, entrepreneurship, social innovation and disaster risk managment, this study pointed out that although the accumulation of studies on entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship are advanced, the study focusing on entrepreneurship and socio-cultural change in a specific cultural context in developing countries by comparing male and female entrepreneurs is scarce. In addition, there are quite a few research on the impacts of common interest group (CIG) approach for empowering women through socio-political transformation in the haor region. Therefore, comparing the cases of local male and female entrepreneurs from various angles in the haor region of Bangladesh will help us to have a deeper understanding of the above-mentioned issues and to consider effective approaches for the solution. Furthermore, it is necessary to identify multi-causal relationships among factors affecting farmers’ performance in disaster risk management (DRM) at community level through the covariance structure analysis.
