Chapter 1 in Capacity-building, Entrepreneurship Development and Gender Empowerment in Bangladesh: A Mixed Methods Research, 2025, pp 1-7 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Although Bangladesh has made commendable progress in reducing extreme poverty and hunger, uneven social and economic growth is prevalent across the country. The performance of agriculture sector is affected by limited resource availability, gender discrimination and the occurrence of natural disasters. The government of Bangladesh undertook National Agricultural Technology Program (NATP) to address the challenges in agriculture. Therefore, this study aims to assess the factors affecting capacity-building of resource-poor farmers for social and economic well-being; and entrepreneurship and gender empowerment in a resource-poor location of Bangladesh. Based on the analytical results, policy implications will be drawn for sustainable socio-economic development of rural farming community in Bangladesh.
