Abstract: Abstract Abel-Grassmann’s groupoids or shortly AG-groupoids have been considered in quite a number of papers, although under different names. In some papers they are named left-almost semigroups, LA-semigroups, in others left invertive groupoids. In our research we have already dealt with different subclasses of the class of AG-groupoids. In this paper we introduce the class of “root of a band,” a generalization of AG-band and AG-3-band, which we have studied previously in 2004 and 2003, respectively.
