Chapter Chapter 4 in Methods of Optimization and Systems Analysis for Problems of Transcomputational Complexity, 2012, pp 161-185 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Important aspects of investigating complicated problems of transition economy are considered, which are especially topical at the present time, in particular, problems of development of information technologies for the determination of ways of energy conservation in the economy of Ukraine. In this case, attention is given to the investigation of the interactions between the real and financial sectors of the country and also to the consideration of features of transition economy that include the abundance of different forms of imperfect competition (monopolism, oligopoly, monopsony, etc.), simultaneous action of several mechanisms of price formation, and various large-scale manifestations of “shadow” economy. In constructing models of such problems, problems of transcomputational complexity often arise, and modern supercomputers and methods of parallelization of computations and optimization are widely used to solve them.
