Chapter Chapter 3 in Integrated Optimization in Public Transport Planning, 2020, pp 65-89 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we extend the integrated timetabling and passenger routing problem by additionally considering line planning. This allows for a passenger focused approach to line planning where travel times can be evaluated exactly instead of approximately as in many passenger focused line planning models. In addition to the integrated problem, we present an exact preprocessing algorithm as well as two heuristics to reduce the problem size. In the computational evaluation the integrated problem as well as the methods for reducing the problem size is discussed.
