Abstract:
Abstract The use of digital technologies is revolutionizing sports training. Numerous approaches to sports training generation have been proposed, each solving a narrowly defined problem. The emerging issue in the smart sports training field is integrating these systems to create solutions to aid the athlete or trainer in the entire training cycle. Nowadays, solutions that can prepare training plans, record and evaluate the training, and forecast results exist, but they are commonly not integrated together. Since no standardization exists, each solution serves as an independent unit. This chapter aims to present the integration of a novel solution for generating highly adaptive cycling training routes with an artificial sports trainer (AST) that is based on the digital twin concept. The proposed solution allows the use of generated training routes as input in an AST monitor device, which can be used while cycling to record the training activity and the executed training. This is done by providing an export functionality to the cycling route generator and adapting the AST monitor to allow the import of training routes and provide navigation.
