A chapter in New Trends and Challenges in Optimization Theory Applied to Space Engineering, 2025, pp 25-30 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The development of full electric satellite platforms equipped with electric propulsion has introduced in past decade new optimal control problems for the guidance function during the low-thrust orbit transfer operations. Automation of the satellite guidance function (either in open-loop or in closed-loop operations) is a strong trend in future satellite and constellation missions. An increased level of autonomy is also identified as an emerging need for future space missions.
