Chapter 10 in Nonlinear Fractional Optimal Control, 2026, pp 181-196 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Conformable fractional derivative follows almost all important properties like the integer-order derivative. In this chapter, we focus on numerical solution of a class of nonlinear optimal control problems with conformable fractional derivatives. First, we present the formulation of fractional optimal control problems with general equality and inequality constraints. Then, based on the proposed numerical integration, the discretization schemes for the fractional-order system as well as for the cost and constraint functions are provided, resulting in the discretized approximate problem. To solve the resulting problem, a gradient-based optimization approach is developed. Finally, three examples are solved to demonstrate the applicability and effectiveness of the developed approach.
