A chapter in Systemics of Emergence: Research and Development, 2006, pp 515-526 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The main objective of this study was to examine the relationship between perceived organizational support (POS) and organizational commitment; more precisely, using a sample of 687 employees, we conducted a study to examine the relationship between POS and a) affective commitment and b) normative commitment; the study also aimed to examine the relationship between POS and self competence as its antecedent. Data confirm the hypotheses that: affective and normative commitment were found to be influenced by POS in an equal manner; POS was found to be influenced by self competence.
