Abstract:
Abstract Response surface methodology is a strategy for investigating, characterizing, or optimizing processes using empirical models. Often several experiments are performed sequentially. Estimation of a multifactor second-order polynomial model is one of the primary tools. This chapter provides a survey of the secondorder model and its analysis, as well as the popular experimental designs used for estimation. The designs presented here are constructed by augmenting or adapting two-level factorial designs.
