Abstract: Abstract In our days the definition of limit is well known and used appropriately. In the past even a genius of the first water like Newton could only intuit the concept. And that in itself was a giant leap, even though such a leap is insufficient to bridge the infinite gap toward the ultimate ratio that he sought.
