Chapter 5 in The Organizational Sweet Spot, 2009, pp 59-69 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Genuine leadership has nothing to do with governorship, and the dissimilarities are significant. Most people, however, either don’t distinguish or don’t know the differences between true or intrinsic leadership and hierarchical position power. In this chapter, I’ll quickly review most of the “classical” and current leadership theories to give you a broad perspective of what is presently being taught in our business schools and concurrently applied in our business environments. I’ll also define and suggest the type of leadership that seems to fit best with the dynamics of a shared-access system – one that is founded on commitment rather than on compliance.
