Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we present a second important illustration of the minimax method, the saddle-point theorem of Rabinowitz [64]. Since its proof uses the topological degree of Brouwer, we reserve this section for a brief presentation of this important topological tool and its main properties. The interested reader can see the details in [57].
