Chapter Chapter 10 in Ergodic Theory, 2011, pp 331-345 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We introduce rotations on quotients of nilpotent groups by studying the important example of the continuous Heisenberg group, and characterising unique ergodicity for an example. We give two different proofs of this, one introducing the important notion of divergence for orbits (a form of the H-principle of Ratner).
