Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides the reader with an overview of this volume from a number of perspectives. First is an overview of the business problems addressed and the decision policies required stretching from networks of machines in a factory to networks of factories in a company to networks of companies in a supply chain. Next there is a brief overview of each chapter with advice to the reader on useful sequences of study depending on individual goals and tastes. Finally there is an overview of the network of authors who contributed to this book.
