The CFO’s Mission and Aspirations
Marina Guzik
Chapter Chapter 3 in CFO Techniques, 2011, pp 15-19 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Let’s face it, the main reason why people go to work every day is to provide sustenance for those who depend on us, including ourselves. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (see Figure 3-1) is unbeatable: roof over your head, food on the table, clothes on your back, and safety always come first. However, there must be a reason for the chart to have this particular shape. As we climb up the mountain of expertise, enrichment, and vocational advancement, after a certain point we pass into more elevated regions of wants.
