Chapter Chapter 1 in Forex for Beginners, 2012, pp 1-22 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract While the history of foreign exchange is almost as long as civilization itself, one need only go back as far as 1944 to unearth the foundation of the modern structure of foreign exchange. Having witnessed the Great Depression and two world wars, global leaders were naturally anxious to bring about stability, and the creation of a new economic and financial system was an important step toward that goal.
