Investing in Cleantech
Robert Rapier
Chapter Chapter 10 in Power Plays, 2012, pp 147-159 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract From 2004 to 2010, over $700 billion was invested globally in renewable energy projects by governments, private investors, private companies, and institutional investors (see Figure 10-1).i Of course, investing involves risks, and sometimes unforeseen factors cause an investment to underperform or even to fail. But, all too often, renewable energy investments have failed for reasons that should have been foreseen by investors had they done sufficient due diligence on the company and their technology.
