Corn Ethanol

Robert Rapier

Chapter Chapter 13 in Power Plays, 2012, pp 199-213 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In order to examine the pros and cons of biofuel policies—and how they might be improved upon—this chapter considers the case of corn ethanol in the United States. Politicians, particularly those in farm states, love corn ethanol. The idea that the U.S. could begin to replace oil with domestic fuel by having farmers do what they do best contains many elements of a compelling story.
