Tactical Trend Trading
Robert Robbins
Chapter Chapter 1 in Tactical Trend Trading, 2012, pp 1-12 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Tactical trend trading can be defined as positioning yourself in those markets that are moving in defined up trends while shorting those markets moving in down trends. it involves using macro, intermarket, and technical analysis to identify those markets that are trending and may begin new trends in the future. it requires using strict risk-control measures so that you size positions in line with your risk tolerance and maintain stop-loss controls and diversification. It takes patience, a love of the markets, a positive attitude, and the mental flexibility to analyze and profit from change and trends. It requires an open mind and a sturdy work ethic to apply yourself to your craft and commit yourself to adopting both a trading-to-win mentality and a risk-averse posture when proven wrong.
