Chapter Chapter 4 in Tactical Trend Trading, 2012, pp 73-100 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract There are numerous technical charting styles and minor technical patterns, palong with some important technical considerations, that every trader should be familiar with. I would stress knowing and mastering the basics before delving into more complex styles and tactics, but as you gain experience and develop your own trading style and favored indicators, you can more readily determine whether additional indicators will be a good fit or will detract from your unique approach to the markets. Until then, mastering the basics while continuing to learn your craft is a good strategy. What follows is an overview of several of the more basic technical indicators you will encounter in your day-to-day trading activity.
