Pitfalls
Robert Robbins
Chapter Chapter 8 in Tactical Trend Trading, 2012, pp 147-164 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We all have different psychological profiles, which means that you bring a set of assets and liabilities to the trading arena that you do not share with any other trader. Despite your unique mental makeup, however, the odds are high that, during your trading career, you will encounter at least one of the mental trading pitfalls discussed in this chapter. Some of these pitfalls may be problems that have already presented themselves to you, while others may lie in wait stealthily for several years before you trip over them. Regardless of when you encounter the many traps that await you along your trading journey, I am confident that you can benefit from the lessons I’ve learned in my decades of blood, sweat, and tears in the markets—lessons that I’m sharing with you in this chapter.
