Chapter Chapter 15 in Lawyers at Work, 2012, pp 261-279 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Adam Nguyen has some good advice for lawyers thinking about leaving the law and starting a business. First, do a structured self-evaluation and understand what your strengths and weaknesses are and what is important to you. What are your goals and your interests? Are you a big-picture thinker or are you meticulous? Are you a problem solver? Do you thrive on uncertainty? Nguyen asked himself these questions as he transitioned from a career as an M&A and private equity attorney on Wall Street to become the founder and CEO of Ivy Link, a profit-for-purpose education company that specializes in one-on-one school admissions guidance, standardized test preparation, and academic coaching, as well as a co-founder and COO of eBrevia, a software company that provides technology solutions to enhance the productivity of legal and business professionals.
